Hospitalist Programs

At Emanuel Medical Center, many patients are treated by our on-site hospitalists, physicians who specialize in treating patients in a hospital setting. 

Hospitalists become a patient's doctor while that person is in the hospital, then hand the patient back to their regular doctor when the patient is discharged. (Private practice doctors can still be a patient's primary doctor while a patient is hospitalized, but no longer have to be.) Emanuel provides both adult hospitalists, who are internal and family medicine specialists, as well as pediatric hospitalists for our younger patients.
