Emergency Services

The Emergency Department treats patients requiring immediate medical attention. As one of the busiest emergency departments in the Central Valley, we provide emergency services to more than 55,000 patients a year in our new Critical Care Center.  

24-hour Emergency Care
The Emanuel Emergency Department is always open and staffed by doctors, nurses and medical staff specially trained in emergency medicine. The Emergency Department entrance faces Olive Avenue.

The Emanuel Emergency Department features 17 private treatment rooms, a dedicated decontamination room to treat patients exposed to hazardous materials, a separate room for patients waiting for test results or admission to the hospital, two triage stations featuring private rooms for patient confidentiality, a 2,200-square-foot waiting area, a separate ambulance entrance, and 24-hour security.
